Depth

The water depth in all fairways and at quays is between one and two metres deeper than the maximum depth indicated on the charts.

There is no tide in the port, but the water level varies between +100 cm and -50 cm, depending on the weather.

Pilotage

Pilotage is available 24 hours a day. The pilot will board the vessel at position 64°16.00’N / 23°30.00’E. The pilot will be on VHF channel 13. The distance to the port is 12 NM.

Incoming vessels or their agents must give advance notice of their arrival to the Pilot Dispatch Centre 24 hours and 12 hours prior to their arrival. Pilotage must be requested 3 hours prior to arrival by email or by telephone. Advance notice can be given later than the said 12-hour timeline in cases where the length of the vessel’s voyage is less than 12 hours.

Outward vessels or their agents must give advance notice to the Pilot Dispatch and to the related Vessel Traffic Service no later than 12 hours and 6 hours prior to departure. Outward vessels must request pilotage 2 hours prior to departure by email or by telephone.

Port area and facilities

The port covers an area of 54 hectares (133 acres). The depth of the fairway and the port basin is 8.5 metres. The quay is 415 metres long and can berth up to three vessels at a time. There is more than 40,000 square metres of indoor storage space available in the port area.

In the immediate vicinity of the port, there are companies that manufacture steel structures and provide recycling services.
